Photo Team Set

This week was about shooting our team (6 people) in their own style. We had to have the people in the photo as a portrait. We tried to capture them in their style as much as possible using all the editing skills we learned also with the photography methods we learned. We also asked the person on how to edit the photo to make it look like their style.

Roxie:
Roxie's pictures involve an urban theme, usually set in an urban neighborhood. She uses windows of buildings as a lot of her content and she uses their reflections to take photos and make them look interesting and unique. I tried to photograph her in that setting with good reflections to match her style

Grace:
Grace's photo use a large amount of editing in Photoshop. Her pictures are very abstract, and sometimes the objects look out of place. She uses background effects as well. She also uses captions using the draw tool over the photo and sometimes over the person's face. I tried to do this as much as possible by shooting her and heavy editing.

John:
John's style uses a lot of urban environment. He takes his pictures with his subjects looking anywhere but the camera. The has them look somewhere else and takes a somewhat up close photo of them in that urban environment.  Also he uses the liquify effect a lot, and I liquified the background in the picture of him to try and match his style.

Cara:
Cara's shooting involves a heavy use of texture of an urban environment. She shoots head on of textured items in the city. I tried to match that style by making her stand in front of a rough wall and photographing her. I edited the photo a little to bring out the texture of the wall. The sunlight and editing worked to make the texture pop out and be noticed.

Nora:
Nora's photo's have a lot of nature in them and I tried to shoot her in front of an environment with lots of flowers. The plants in her photo and really vibrant and contrasty and it covers most of the photograph. I shot her in front of plants and made the colors more vibrant by boosting the contrast to make the colors pop more, like her style.

Giv:
Giv uses urban environment in his photos as well but his photos utilize a use of depth using leading lines. This is what i tried to do for the photos that I took of him. Very Urban things such as buildings cars, street, etc. were used to make this similar to his style. Also, him as a nonchalant subject in the depth also makes it similar to his style.

Best of Spring Series

 

This my best of Set for my Spring Series. I think these photos shot what I have been trying to improve throughout the set. You can see the difference in flower shape and background in between some of the photos, because I tried to focus on improving through those aspects.

Last Draft For Spring Series

 This was our last draft of our spring set. I tried to perfect the idea that I was working on for the fast month or two. I used backgrounds that were dark and not distracting. I tried to make sure that nothing stuck out in the background like a car or streets. Also I tried to find interesting shapes for a flower. The editing involved more contrast boost to make the flower pop. Of course the camera was set for the background to be blurry.

Spring Series 3

This week I worked again with the foreground and background concept, using black and white color separation between the flowers and the background. This week I tried to use less distracting backgrounds so it doesn't draw attention away from the subject, which is the flower. I also tried to find interesting varieties of flower shapes when I was shooting.

Spring Series #2

This weeks series was to improve our previous spring set. I worked with flowers and I made the blurred background black and white with the flower in color. I also boosted the contrast a lot to make the subject the flower, pop out.

Spring Project 1

This is our new set of photos. I decided I wanted to work with nature up close. My goal was to focus the camera on the plant and blur the background. I wanted to create contrast between the foreground and background. I did this by boosting contrast and making the background black and white. I kept the subject in color to make it really stand out. I used the macro setting and aperture setting on my camera.
