Motion

This weeks assignment painting with light and motion blurring. The object of blurring the photo was to make it look more dynamic than the usual photos we take in class, that are really defined. For light painting, the camera was set so the shutter speed was really slow, and the camera could only catch the light emitted from the flashlight or another source of light. I think the results are really cool!

Depth 2

One part of this week's assignment is to show depth within a photo by finding repeating patterns in objects. We also tried to incorporate the idea of leading lines into the photo, also to show depth. In some cases, the pattern pf repetition in the photos create leading lines and show a lot of depth.

The other assignment for this week was to use the foreground/ background concept in our photos, and focus on either the foreground which was really close the the lens, or the background. Not both. the objective by doing this is to make the subject of the picture that you want to focus on really jump out and be the first thing you notice when you see the picture.

Leading Lines

This week's assignment was to use leading lines to create depth within the photos we took. The point was to make a vanishing point and make the images look endless and really deep. Getting really low and near the lines helps to do this.

Rule of Thirds

This week's assignment was about the rule of thirds. We as the photographers, must use the contrast of the environment to our advantage and really make the subject of the picture pop out from the background. We can also make the subject stand out by blurring the background and really focusing the camera on the subject of the photo. While doing this, the subject must not take up most of the image, only one- third of it. The reason for doing this is to balance the weight of the subject in the photo with the weight of the background, rather than it being straight in the middle, stealing all the attention.
